This is my latest work. A task from Blizzard China's distributor NetEase. I tried to use some of the traditional Chinese art style which is known as ink wash panting when sketched and colored it:
Chen Stormstout, the legendary pandaren brewmaster who just returned to his ancestors' homeland of Valley of the Four Winds in Pandaria, was enjoying his leisure afternoon at the brook bank. There's no bliss better than having a cup of fresh and cool beverage while crossing feet on the stone which served as cushion.
But then, the breeze shifted and the delicate fragrance of bamboo leaves was replaced by the odor of ancient wood. As Chen glimpsed the incoming visitor, he immediately realized who the man clad in monk robe with a string of spirit beads on his neck was.
A challenger.
Chen understood the traditions. The people of Pandaria were indomitable, competitive, and peaceful. This was an honorable duel. A fight to know each other's force and technique in martial art. It's how pandarens learned their progress and lessons.
Needless for another word. He rose up and cupped his hands with a courteous bow. The monk returned with the same manner as both of their faces smiled at each other. Then, swift as an hawk, Chen took a leap and crashed down with his staff as the monk parried the blow unhurriedly with his crescent shovel.
